Please Read!!Political Satire Assignment?
We were supposed to write a short Political Satire…Here’s what I have so far…
Once upon a time, in a kingdom not so far away, there lived a prince who longed to be king when he grew up. So he went to an Ivy League school, even though he was a ‘C’ student. And then he became the king.
The King’s country was a happy place, but soon it was attacked. The whole nation looked to their king to see what he could do.
The king said he would punish the attackers, and the people were pleased that their king could help them and make sure they were safe. But the kingdom wasn’t so happy anymore.
Because the ruler attacked the wrong country, and no one was quite sure what was going on, and no one is entirely sure to this day. The king said the country he invaded had weapons that could harm his people, and he wanted to keep his people safe. So he sent soldiers to look for the weapons.
And he sent more and more and more soldiers, and none of them could find any weapons. They looked and looked, but they still couldn’t find any. In fact, no one could.
So some people in the kingdom got together to research the attack and the war that happened after, and they still didn’t find any weapons; in fact, they said they never existed.
But still the king sent more and more soldiers until three thousand of them had been slain. And to this very day, soldiers are still dying in the wrong country, and still nobody is entirely sure why.
This is what I have so far…..any thoughts??
I love all of it!! So perfect. You use this fairytale like language, which gives the short story a mood. Continue on and good luck, but try to add something in their about the 2000 election, whisper campaign, and about how in ‘04 more of the kingdom wanted a different king, but the king tricked the people into thinking they still wanted him to be king. Also, talk about how geologists in the kingdom prooved evolution to a group young scientists by comparing pictures of the kings face to some monkeys. Insult more, but keep up with the mood. You’re free to use my ideas, but I’m being a little to blunt. Oh and also talk about Catrina, antural disaster in the kingdom, which the king ignored….

your jumping to fast from one part to another feels like there's allot missing especially in the beginning maybe more details on how the story develops don't get lost when going from past to present
