PostHeaderIcon Why is Jorge Zambrano leaving Espn Deportes Radio?

On Jorge Ramos’ show they mentioned Dr. Zeta was leaving Espn Deportes but as usual they never give any details. Is Zambrano leaving on bad terms? His humor and ability to start intense debate on Jorge Ramos is sorely missed. BTW, Zambrano on Univision TV is nothing special but he is the best on the radio, specifically on Jorge Ramos.

was he the dude that was always arguing with Jorge ramos?
if so i thought he was funny and made Jorge look stupid on several occasions……

PostHeaderIcon I really need help with a political satire, it’s due tomorrow!?

Please be more specific. Which country are you in for starters? What guidelines has your teacher set you? What form is it to be presented in? Are you looking for information or just a general topic which you can research yourself?

PostHeaderIcon Can someone email me an example of a political satire that they have written it’s for 10th grade English?

Look at something like "Animal Farm" or "A Modest Proposal."
You could also try writing something like a town council meeting where all the representatives were dogs of various breeds and temperaments and sizes agreeing and disagreeing on housing regulations, sanitation, zoning, education, etc. I loved that movie where the head guy was The Great Dane!

PostHeaderIcon How can I help him get motivated again?

My boyfriend has recently got one of the lowest grades you can get in his contemporary theatre course. He is completely torn up by this, and spent almost 2 hours not talking from how depressed he was.

Any sort of praise or encouragement he gave me, he simply argued over, claiming he obviously had no talent and he’s now refusing to carry on with his course, and even says there’s no point trying any others, because they will provide the same result.

I keep telling him how talented he is, because I’ve seen him in plays before and he’s amazing, but his grade has completely knocked his confidence, and he believes his friends and family are just humoring him by telling him he’s good. (He’s good at arguing, unfortunately!)

Eventually I managed to calm him down and cheer him up, but I’m pretty sure it’s only a temporary thing.

I’m devastated how upset he is, because I’ve never seen something affect him so much.
Please, any advice you can give would be really helpful. I have no idea what to say to him in this situation and it’s upsetting how I feel I can’t help him.

Some people are academically not so good.. but are extremely good on board at work..
But at the end of the day, however talented he needs to have good grades..

Find out which area he needs to pay additional attention and work on that.. If he is talented it will show in a few years when he gets to work for real.. but for now he needs to work twice as hard to improve grades..

PostHeaderIcon Rephrase the following sentence into contemporary language…?

Rephrase the following sentence into contemporary language: "And yet the familiar observation of the universal compensations might suggest the fear that so summary a stop of a bad humor was more jeapardous than its continuance"
It is a quote from "Education" by Waldo Emerson

It’s better to finish telling a bad joke than to stop in the middle.

I love those books, too!
I will give stars based on how much I liked/loved the book. 5 stars is the most and 1 is the least. I really liked these:

Dear John by Nicholas Sparks (The movie comes out on February 5th): *****
When Savannah Lynn Curtis comes into his life, John Tyree knows he is ready to turn over a new leaf. an angry rebel, he had enlisted in the army after high school, not knowing what else to do. Then, during a furlough, he meets Savannah, the girl of his dreams. The attraction is mutual and quickly grows into the kind of love that leaves Savannah vowing to wait for John while he finishes his tour of duty. But neither can foresee that 9/11 is about to change the world. Like so many proud men and women, John must choose between love and country. Now, when he finally returns to North Carolina, John will discover how love can transform us in ways we never could have imagined.

Kissed by an Angel by Elizabeth Chandler: ****
When her boyfriend, Tristan, died, Ivy thought she’d lost everything, even her faith in angels. But now she’s discovered hat he’s her guardian angel- his presence so strong that she ca feel the touch of his hand, the beat of his heart. Ivy needs Tristan now more than ever because he knows she’s in terrible danger. Only I’vy’s guardian angel can save her, now that his killer is after her. But if Tritan rescues Ivy, his mission on earth will be finished and he must leave her behind forever. Will saving Ivy mean losing her just when he’s finally reached her again?

The Time Travlers Wife by Audrey Niffenegger (A movie. Have you noticed I am obsessed with books that are movies?) *****
A dazzling novel in the most untraditional fashion, this is the remarkable story of Henry DeTamble, a dashing, adventuresome librarian who travels involuntarily through time, and Clare Abshire, an artist whose life takes a natural sequential course. Henry and Clare’s passionate love affair endures across a sea of time and captures the two lovers in an impossibly romantic trap, and it is Audrey Niffenegger’s cinematic storytelling that makes the novel’s unconventional chronology so vibrantly triumphant.

An enchanting debut and a spellbinding tale of fate and belief in the bonds of love, The Time Traveler’s Wife is destined to captivate readers for years to come.

Need anymore! Just e-mail me! These books are amazing, I promise. Just read them!
